Regain Your Independence With Main Mobility

Tom Lorentz’s journey into the Mobility industry began in 1984 as a one man operation in Tom’s grandfather’s service station in Depew, NY. Tom’s desire to build vehicles came from his first passion, music. He has traveled and played with some of the biggest artists in the industry and writing several of the theme songs for the Special Olympics such as “Ordinary Life”.

While he continued to travel for his music career he knew there was a better way for them to travel. He began creating plush style vans for traveling, while doing so Tom’s community took notice. People from around his community would stop frequently and ask Tom to build them one of his vans also. As he continued to build these vans for the people in his community the word had gotten out which eventually evolved into a business.

One day a person from the community came to Tom asking for something different, they had a disabled child and asked for a way for them to be able to travel with their child in one of these vans. He began doing research and was told to talk to a man named Ralph Braun. After meeting with Ralph, Tom left with a wheelchair lift he had bought from Ralph Braun and wealth of knowledge to begin his journey into the mobility industry.

Since that first experience his business had evolved from there, now with roughly 30 employees Main Mobility continues to be one of the top Wheelchair accessible van dealers in the country. Tom hasn’t lost his passion for music and continues by hosting over half a dozen charities for the “Not for Profit“ organizations in WNY. Main Mobility remains one of Western New York’s premier manufacturers and sellers of wheelchair accessible vehicles and adaptive mobility equipment going on 32 years!
