VA increases Automobile Allowance Significant increase effective 10/1/2011 Published: Monday, October 31, 2011 7:00 am

We've recently learned that the Department of Veterans Affairs has increased the automobile allowance benefit for certain veterans.  According to their publication Federal Benefits for Veterans, Dependents and Survivors (2011 Edition), "Veterans and servicemenbers may be eligible for a one-time payment of not more than $18,900 toward the purchase of an automobile or other conveyance if they have service-sonnected loss or permanent loss of one or both hands or feet, permananet impairment of vision of both eyes to a certain degree, or ankylosis (immobility) of one or bothe knees or one or both hips."  That's an increase of $7,900!  In addition, mobility equipment and vehicle modifications to accomodate a disability may be covered.  These funds and coverage can be by covered military veterans used to purchase a wheelchair van!  Contact us today to learn more.
