Q. What is preventative maintenance and why should I spend the money to have it done?
A. Generally, preventative maintenance is an overall inspection of equipment and includes a clean, lube, and adjustment of moving parts. Spending the money on preventative maintenance now can save you more money in the long run. Having the peace of mind that your mobility equipment is working safely and efficiently in and of itself is priceless.
Main Mobility’s service department has set up preventative maintenance packages at a discounted rate for your wheelchair lift, lowered floor wheelchair accessible minivan, hand controls, scooter lifters, wheel chair securement systems (EZ Lock, Q-Lock), transfer seats, and turn out seats (Turny seat, Companion seat). These services are recommended every 6 months. By following the recommendations, our certified technicians are looking at your vehicle twice a year and may be able to find potential problems and repair them immediately preventing further damage and a costly repair. Paying now for a preventative maintenance is the best way to protect your investment. Next to buying a house, your vehicle is the largest purchase you will make, and with the additional conversions or accessories installed, it is especially important to keep things running smoothly. The last thing anyone needs is to be stuck somewhere with a lift or ramp that will not deploy. We will clean, lube and adjust the wheel chair lift or ramp. This also applies to hand controls, turn out seats, transfer seats, scooter lifters, and securement systems.
